Not that long ago, I received an email from a very good friend, Dr Judy Krings, who is from the USA. The text was short and sweet. It just read; "You will love this".

The email had a link to a MySpace site, and I clicked the link. What a great surprise! The link produced a video called 'Celebrate What's Right With The World'. The video is made by Dewitt Jones, who is a freelance photographer for the National Geographic.
"By celebrating what is right,
we find the energy to fix what is wrong"
- Dewitt Jones
I got to know Judy through a coaching class, which I am doing in the US. She is a great friend and a fantastic individual. She is a gifted psychologist and coach, who work with people to help them discover their inner resources and become the best they can be.
The fundamentals of the coaching program are build on Positive Psychology, which is very much focused on 'what is right with people?' rather than 'what is wrong?'.
When I was watching the video by Dewitt Jones, it was so obvious that Judy's top strengths were in play.
Dewitt's message is all about noticing what is right in the Global Village. Many of us spent a lot of time focusing on what is wrong and all our problems. Dewitt does the opposite and what a difference that makes.

When we run leadership workshops for our clients, we often use the "Appreciative Eye", which is doing exactly what Dewitt is suggesting. The participants start to focus on what is working rather that what is not working. In the corporate world, we have often been programmed to find the problems and fix them rather than identifying our strengths and build on those to reach our vision. We show them how to focus on possibilities rather than limitations.
Dewitt has worked for National Geographic where the vision is to "Celebrate What's Right With The World".
He is a gifted story teller and visually the video is awesome too. Dewitt used to think "I will not believe it until I see it". Lots of people have that belief but what about his suggested alternative: "I will not see it until I believe it."
Our vision controls our perception, and our perception becomes our reality. So what are we looking at when we walk around in the Global Village?
Dewitt recommends a couple of useful questions, which are useful whether we are at work or at play:
- What is right with the situation?
- What is here to celebrate?
- What are the possibilities?
When we go through our coaching training, we learn about powerful questions. We learn that by asking better questions, we get better answers.

"When we believe it, we will see it." - Dewitt Jones
We all have talents and strengths. We all have something to unique to give to this world. We all have the opportunity to transform something from ordinary to extraordinary and from success to significance.
"The difference between a good frame and a great frame is measured in millimeters, not miles...." - Dewitt Jones
Watch the movie, and enjoy it! It is really awesome. You can find it here.
I know how both Judy and Dewitt live their lives. Every day, they ask very powerful and empowering questions, which give them inspiring and uplifting answers.
What about you? Let's start celebrating!
Keep Inspiring!
Happy Days
